Rocky Mountain Laboratories research leads to a potential STD vaccine

Thirty years ago, Harlan Caldwell didn’t have the technology to take a closer look at his scientific research. With the development of newer technologies, a vaccine preventing chlamydia may be on its way.

“As in all science, things take time and review, but this case is very special,” said Caldwell, Ph.D and head of the intracellular parasites lab at Rocky Mountain Laboratories. “Of course, research for any vaccine can take anywhere from two to 10 years, but it’s the current technology that has been able to catapult the result of the research.”
