The public presentation, set for 8:15-9:30 a.m. in SUB Ballroom A, is specifically designed to address MSU personnel who interact with students and will include a review of research describing successful initiatives to improve student engagement and persistence. Fotuhi will also describe the efforts of the College Transition Collaborative, a Stanford University-based research initiative, to change students’ attitudes about learning. He will then detail specific techniques that can be used in faculty and staff interactions with students to effect similar changes.
