The Montana Department of Commerce says Montana’s film business is booming.

In just 18 months, the film industry has brought $47.6 million to Montana’s economy.

A few quick facts show what passing the Media Act, a tax incentive for productions, has done to boost the state.

Between January 2019 and June 2020, 117 productions have been filmed.

Of the 280 full-time jobs that have been created, those employees have been paid $17.6 million, and $1.3 million has gone to state taxes.
