Roundtable forming in Great Falls. Get Involved and Network!!

In Great Falls Montana the excitement is brimming. Why, because things are happening. Buzz words like “Economic Development”, “Business Retention and Expansion”, “Workforce Development” and “Small Business Growth”, once only mentioned in discussion, are now being turned into actions. Our work is cut out for us and the next step is to develop strong technology plans for business, higher education and the Greater Great Falls Community.

MATR congratultes Joe and Great Falls for forming another Montana Roundtable. We encourage all Montana communities to gather together and network to increase the economic success of our endeavors. Russ

The future of information technology here in the Electric City is dependent on networking, and not just the digital kind. It will take a collaborative effort of key individuals to bring the expertise, experience and energy required of successful implementation in this day of ever-changing technologies. No one person can do it alone.

Looking ahead, MSU-Great Falls College of Technology is researching ways to advance its higher ed opportunities through technological enhancement. Like other institutions and businesses, these types of initiatives progress on shaky ground without the shared resources a good network of experts provides. So as other groups look to similar technological integrations within their walls, it is time we partner and help Great Falls as a whole make timely, well-informed and fiscally smart decisions on the incorporation of new technologies in our community.

For those of you who share this view and could either benefit from this type of network or bring an experienced perspective please contact Joe Schaffer, Director of Outreach, at MSU-Great Falls College of Technology to get involved. If you are wondering what this would entail, initial technology roundtable meetings both local and State wide, in conjunction with The Montana Associated Technology Roundtables or MATR (www.matr.org), would help identify key players, their interests and their needs, and would develop into mentoring networks, topical discussion groups, user forums and other venues for the discussion of technology.
