Tourism E-Marketing Grants Available for Montana’s Tourism Businesses

Application deadline is December 14, 2012

The Montana Office of Tourism (MTOT) is now offering E-Marketing grants to help Montana’s tourism-related businesses improve their marketing position within the industry.

Because technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace and is steadily replacing traditional methods of marketing, MTOT is introducing this new grant program to assist Montana businesses with their e-marketing efforts. MTOT has a total of $150,000 available for E-Marketing grants.

"Establishing a successful online presence has become a major component in effective business marketing," said Dore Schwinden, Director of the Montana Department of Commerce. "Today, the internet is the first resource people turn to for research when planning a vacation. It’s critical for Montana businesses to be represented online."

Grants are to be used for the creation or enhancement of e-marketing and cannot be used for domain registration, web hosting, general maintenance services, real estate marketing, resale of product(s) or annual subscriptions. Grant funding may be used for a variety of projects and will be scored based on the project’s merit.

To be eligible to apply for the grants, applicants must be currently licensed to do business in Montana with its principal business office located within the state of Montana. Applicants can include private businesses, non-profit entities including city, county or tribal governments, as well as other Montana state agencies and federal agencies operating in Montana.

There is no set number of grant awards that may be made in a fiscal year. The total dollar amount of the grant award(s) may not exceed the total amount of the funding. For fiscal year 2013, the total amount of funding is $150,000.
