Gateway Scholarships Offered

On January 7 and 8, 2003, “Gateway to Opportunity”—a regional economic development forum will be held in Glendive, Montana.

On January 7th, a special evening forum on “Regional Tourism Opportunities: Expanding Beyond the Borders” will be held at the Eastern Plains Events Center (EPEC). On January 8, seminars and exhibiting will be held at Dawson Community College.

A noon luncheon and forum on January 8th at the EPEC will feature Montana and North Dakota congressmen and David Dodd, President and CEO of DADCO Consulting Services, a firm specializing in capital, communication and collaboration. David has a broad base of expertise in the wide world of economic development, and is an internationally recognized instructor and lecturer.

The seminars will feature 36 new ideas and opportunities to strengthen communities, create new income from our land, and improve personal and family income. The six topic areas of the seminars include:

* Value-added agriculture and alternative crops

* Alternative energy development

* Business skills and marketing

* Recreation and tourism

* Information technology/e-commerce

* Ideas/innovations and inventions

Eastern Montana and western North Dakota inventors and entrepreneurs are invited to exhibit at this event. Scholarships are available for inventors and entrepreneurs to help cover the cost of 10-foot by 8-foot booths that will be located in the gymnasium at Dawson Community College.
