Officials develop construction training programs in Montana
Work got under way Thursday on how to spend a nearly $2 million federal grant to train more Montanans for construction jobs.
In October, the U.S. Department of Labor announced that it was giving $1.98 million to develop construction trades programs in Montana.
Montana State University-Billings College of Technology administers the grant that will start programs at the Billings campus and at Montana State University-Northern at Havre, the University of Montana College of Technology in Missoula and the University of Montana College of Technology in Butte. More than 1,800 students are expected to be trained over the three-year period of the grant.
