After three rounds of voting and over 15,000 votes cast from Montanans across the state, two outstanding companies have been named winners in the small and large business categories: Rattlesnake Cable Company and Nomad Global Communications Systems (GCS).
1) Calumet announced that the U.S. Department of Energy awarded a $1.44 billion conditional loan guarantee commitment to fund the construction and expansion of the Montana Renewables renewable fuels facility in Great Falls, Montana.
Opportunities abound to attract investment in wind, solar, hydrogen, and eFuels, and to significantly increase the energy efficiency of industrial operations, commercial facilities and homes. By 2035, the Great Falls trade area has the potential to attract $11.5 billion in wind energy investment. 84% of roofs in Cascade County are solar viable. Homeowners and renters could save $1.6 million in energy savings per year.
The world is in the midst of many races to avert climate catastrophe, and animal agriculture is one of the central actors. Despite its outsized emissions, animal agriculture has long escaped most litigants’ notice. But in jurisdictions around the world, the industry has begun to face serious legal challenges premised on its significant role in driving climate change.
Montana GEAR UP prepares rural students for college by providing tutoring, mentoring, academic and career counseling, and exposure to college campuses. Without the resources provided by Montana GEAR UP, many statewide services, including free access to the ACT and pre-ACT and Montana’s dual enrollment program, will be severely limited.
