University of Montana this is a great opportunity! \nOn Wednesday\, October 28\, the Montana Technology Innovation Partnership powered by MSU TechLink Center\, is hosting Navigating SBIR: From Idea to Impact at MonTEC in Missoula. \n📅 Wednesday\, October 28\n⏰ 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. workshop\n🥂 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. happy hour and networking\n📍 MonTEC\, 1121 E. Broadway Street\, Missoula \nThe federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs can provide significant non-dilutive funding to develop technology and move it toward commercialization. If you’re a researcher\, founder or part of a team moving an idea toward the market\, they’re worth understanding. \nThe workshop is interactive and in person\, and it sticks to the practical side: how to identify opportunities\, what federal agencies are looking for\, how proposals are evaluated\, what goes into a competitive application and why the right collaborators matter. There will also be examples of companies that have used SBIR/STTR funding\, connections to Montana resources and partners\, and plenty of time for questions. \nThen stick around. MTIP and MonTEC are hosting a happy hour with tech founders and what I’m told will be some very serious hors d’oeuvres. \nOne thing I keep appreciating about Montana’s innovation community is how many people are willing to help researchers and entrepreneurs figure out the next step.
