With New RFP, Delaware Aims to Eradicate Broadband ‘Deserts’

Officials hope to leverage existing fiber infrastructure and a successful wireless broadband pilot to connect rural areas through public-private partnerships over the next two years.

InterBel Telephone Cooperative in Eureka, Montana has been awarded a $486,000 grant from the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration to bring high-speed fiber to the Business Community of Eureka.

"This is a game changer for our community" said Lincoln County Commissioner Mike Cole. "The ability to retain, grow, and attract technology-based companies to Eureka is a huge opportunity to make positive economic changes to our area".

Expanding High-Speed Internet Access for Montana’s Rural Schools

This week, two Montana schools were awarded state match funds through the Broadband for Montana Schools program, with assistance from the national nonprofit EducationSuperHighway, to upgrade broadband capabilities and increase internet speeds: Belfry K-12 Schools and West Valley School near Kalispell.
