Human beings are poisoning the planet and threatening animals with extinction, famed scientist Jane Goodall told a large Bozeman audience Monday, but there is reason to hope we are smart enough and compassionate enough to turn things around.

“The Iranian people are very critical of their government,” Ebadi said, speaking through a translator. “But you must understand that war against Iran, or even a threat of war against Iran, will put human rights in a worse situation and give the government the pretext to suppress the voices of dissidents.”

Both women’s appearances on campus in April are incredible opportunities for people in the area, said Carmen McSpadden, director of MSU’s Leadership Institute.

Leadership was the overriding objective of the graduate seminar I taught at MIT last Fall.

“This will be best semester ever of leadership speakers,” says John Mahoney, a senior studying Business Marketing in his fourth semester at the Leadership Institute.
