Steve Running, one of the nation’s foremost experts on climate change, was a lead author of the 2007 United Nations IPCC report that presents strong evidence that humanity is artificially warming our world.

"Even though we don’t believe any information was stolen, we are treating this as a serious situation and want to alert these students to the possibility that they were affected," MSU spokeswoman Cathy Conover said Friday.

The goal of the center is to train people who have close relations with children on reservations. These people can then help and treat children who have experienced a traumatic event such as domestic abuse or a natural disaster.

Now University of Montana professors Jan La Bonty and Marian McKenna have been awarded a three-year, $3 million federal grant to try to change that.

“It’s the governor’s office and the individual legislators. That’s where we need to solve this problem.”
