At a ceremony this afternoon, representatives from PPL presented a $10,000 check to the school, the fourth donation of its kind in the past five years.

As part of its annual Project Earth Environmental Education Grants Program, PPL Montana is reaching out to elementary and high schools across the state to help support programs that will inspire students to learn about environmental issues and energy conservation.

Graduating high school seniors are eligible to apply for this scholarship if they are dependents of subscribers who receive their local landline telephone service from Triangle.

Ehlert’s program will focus on how businesses can use the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award Criteria to drive high levels of business performance. The model, based on a set of universal management principles and values, allows business owners to analyze operations and develop plans for a sustainable organization.

"Literacy is the first building block children need to reach their full potential," said Juneau. "When we get books into the hands of parents during the preschool years, we support them as they lay the essential foundations for learning during the school years."

The job shadowing is part of Career Exploration, a class that examines and discusses various careers. Students come up with three choices for job shadowing and ask questions of their mentors to gather as much information as they can about the job.

The competition connects local Web experts with nonprofit clients who may be unable to afford Web design and development services. In addition, the competition provides an experiential learning opportunity essential for MIS students to translate classroom skills into workplace solutions.

For the past four years all the juniors in the district have had a chance to observe someone in a profession they’re interested in pursuing.

The CoB is accepting applications from companies that may want to participate in either of these courses during the spring 2010 semester, at no cost to the company or organization; which begins January 13 and ends May 7. All types of businesses are encouraged to apply.
