The schools will receive a combined total of more than $10,300 to support earth science education as part of PPL Montana’s Project Earth Environmental Education Grants program.

The University of Montana has many business students looking for hands-on opportunities to show their skills. The students are young, bright, energetic, and are armed with current business knowledge. One area with which students need help is real-world business experience.

Big Sky Economic Development encourages the School District No. 2 Administration, in partnership with its teachers, students, parents, and the business community to continue its work on a vision and strategy for a high quality K-12 education system and a sustainable, long-term financial model.

“It’s the facilities, infrastructure, the people, it’s the access to all of those that makes it spectacular,” she added. “And then to have it here in the Bitterroot, it’s like a cherry on top.”

Get the basics of running and managing a successful business by attending Building Bitterroot Business classes offered by the Ravalli County Economic Development Authority (RCEDA) http://www.rceda.org/ and the Bitterroot College Program of the University of Montana (BCP) http://www.umt.edu/bcp .

The grant is from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and will create the national Tribal Healthy Homes Assessment and Training Center at MSU.

Taxpayers whose income is $55,000 or less are eligible for the assistance.

History Day is a yearlong program to challenge middle and high school students to improve their analytical, research and communication skills.
