The path to a better tuberculosis vaccine runs through Missoula, Montana based Inimmune

Jay Evans, the director of the University of Montana center and the chief scientific and strategy officer and a co-founder of Inimmune, a privately held biotechnology company in Missoula, said his team has been working on a TB vaccine for 15 years. The private-public partnership is developing vaccines and trying to improve existing vaccines, and he said it’s still five years off before the TB vaccine might be distributed widely.

Missoula’s International Wildlife Film Festival runs Saturday, April 20th- Thursday, April 25th with a “Best Of” screening on Saturday, April 27th.

The mission of the International Wildlife Film Festival is to promote awareness, knowledge, and understanding of wildlife, habitat, people, and nature through excellence in film. The long-standing festival champions wildlife filmmakers and challenges conventional expectations about how we conserve wildlife and habitat.

Montana school district turns to peer network to boost mental health

According to the Office of Public Instruction’s 2023 Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 22.7% of Montana students seriously considered attempting suicide. Twenty-two percent of students actually made a suicide plan.
