NorthWestern Energy is one of two Montana utilities participating in the project. NorthWestern plans to test the operational efficiencies and customer service enhancements that may be gained by the installation of technology to enhance communication between the utility and the meter.

The company’s new owners are Milan Kangrga, 53, and Blazo Gjorev, 31 – who are American residents originally from Croatia. The men currently operate a small flatbed truck service out of the Chicago area and are partners in other businesses, but did not elaborate on the nature of those businesses.

Jane Karas – who as president of Flathead Valley Community College played host to Monday’s roundtable – stressed that no matter the industry, a well-trained workforce will be key to future job creation in the region. Her school has seen a 40 percent enrollment jump this fall, in large part due to the area’s high unemployment, and she’s been adding programs to meet the demand of both employers and job seekers.

Secretary of State Linda McCulloch reminds Domestic Corporations and Domestic Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) that Montana law requires them to file the Annual Report on time to avoid having their business involuntarily dissolved.

These funds will be used to provide new broadband connections to rural Montana residents within Triangle’s service area.
