If university research was a business, it would be bankrupt.

Regardless of the motive for technology transfer, the key objective of the transfer is to run the manufacturing process at the receiving site with no or minimal changes from the original process developed at the sending site.

The U.’s model, which "cherry picks" technologies to sell as companies rather than just licensing technologies, could undermine tech transfer by "creating higher price tags for Utah’s local entrepreneurs" to participate.

"You have to fish where the fish are."
