Wyoming Governor Freudenthal to University of Wyoming board: Start your search for a new president over

Former University of Wyoming President Philip L. Dubois pronounced the search for his successor "a mess" Wednesday, and Gov. Dave Freudenthal said the UW trustees should start the process all over again.

The trustees are scheduled to hold a telephone conference call meeting at noon today to consider their course of action in the wake of the withdrawal of two out-of-state finalists for the job.

Tom Buchanan, the third finalist, who has been president on an interim basis since Dubois’s resignation last summer, is scheduled to meet with students, faculty and staff and hold an open forum Friday. But whether any of it happens could depend on the outcome of today’s conference call.
