University of Montana president focusing on ‘tomorrow-proofing’ students, he tells Great Falls

“We need to do a better job of retaining students and making sure they persist to graduation,” he said.
He’s realigned the administration to help with student retention and revamped how students begin their time at UM. The “Big Sky Experience” sends students on an adventure – into the wilderness or working on a service learning project – so they’ve got a support network of new friends before they start their first class.
