UM bike ambassadors / Advocates aim to make UM better for bicyclists

It’s not easy explaining the principles of bike safety to cyclists ripsnorting across campus at breakneck speeds.

“That’s the trouble,” said Travis Sehorn, one of two new bike ambassadors at the University of Montana. “We’re thinking about putting ‘SLOW’ stickers on the backs of our clipboards. But hopefully as word spreads people will recognize our purpose here.”

And what exactly is the purpose of assigning a pair of bike ambassadors to patrol the Missoula campus?

“Our mission statement is to make campus a better place for bikes,” said Tracy Wirak, also a bike ambassador.
