This event is in partnership with the Davidson Honors College The Distinguished Speaker Program is supported in part by Stockman Bank and Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation.

Drawing on 50 years of research and conservation in the African savannas, with examples from America and Europe, David Western, one of the world’s renowned conservation leaders shows how our understanding of nature and our changing sensibilities are reshaping conservation globally in an age of human domination.

Dr. David Western is currently chairman of the African Conservation Center in Nairobi, Kenya and a renowned leader in global conservation and community collaboration.

Dr. Western has worked with a wide range of communities to help build local economies while working with local people to save endangered wildlife.
