The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center Inaugural Global Water Summit Report

On 2018 May 16 – 19, the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center organized its inaugural Global Water Summit to discuss a wide array of complex water topics at the intersection of energy, agriculture, industry, high tech and public health.

This brief report highlights some of the important discussion themes, the critical gaps in the field that need to be addressed and opportunities that were identified.

The Summit was designed to encourage active conversation, create trust among diverse stakeholders, promote creative thinking and explore new opportunities. To facilitate these endeavors and promote interdisciplinary conversations, summit participants were invited from a variety fields in both public and private sectors who share the common conviction that communication and collaboration are the bedrock for progress. The result was a transformative three days of panel discussions, cross-sector dialogues, active learning and fruitful engagements among attendees.
