SLC firm will help to battle bioterror / AnzenBio: The company will participate in the Toxin Detection Initiative

AnzenBio’s PDS-8 has the advantage of its small size and versatility. A first-responder to an incident could take a series of chips programmed to detect myriad poisons or harmful bacteria and viruses.

A Salt Lake City company noted for its work in portable chemical and biological detection technology has been enlisted to help bolster the nation’s defenses against toxic terrorism.

AnzenBio http://anzenbio.com/ , best known for its hand-held PDS-8 electrochemical detection device, on Tuesday said it will participate in the Toxin Detection Initiative (TDI). Primary work on TDI is planned for Dugway Proving Ground, where Battelle Memorial Institute operates its Chemical Biological Defense Test Technology Development, Application and Commercialization Center.
