Salman Rushdie To Speak At MSU, 3/7 Organized by MSU Leadership Institute

Author Salman Rushdie, considered one of the most prominent novelists of the late 20th century, both for his literary achievements and for the controversy surrounding them, is coming to Bozeman.

Tickets for "Step Across This Line – An Evening with Salman Rushdie" will go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 9. The lecture will take place on March 7 at 7:30 pm in Montana State University’s Strand Union Building ballrooms.

"Rushdie’s life experience with the fatwa and as an author represents the importance of our country’s open exchange of thoughts and ideas," said Carmen McSpadden, Director of the MSU Leadership Institute http://www.montana.edu/leadership/ , which is organizing the event.

The lecture is sponsored by TIAA-CREF, ASMSU and the Office of the President. Tickets are $5 apiece and may be purchased at the Bobcat Ticket Office and all TicketWest outlets.
