RightNow establishes MSU Computer Science scholarships
RightNow Technologies, the world’s leading provider of hosted customer service and support solutions, has established two $4,000 continuing scholarships for Montana State University’s Computer Science Department. The two scholarships represent the largest annual scholarship awards offered through the computer science department, according to Michael Oudshoorn, head of the department.

In granting the scholarships, RightNow acknowledges MSU’s significant contribution to the company’s success. Almost 40 percent of RightNow’s employees located at the corporate headquarters in Bozeman are MSU alumni, including Susan Carstensen, chief financial officer and Steve Daines, vice president of customer care.
“MSU and Bozeman have provided RightNow with a workforce that is second to none,” said Greg Gianforte, CEO and founder of RightNow. “We are more than happy to return the favor by supporting the university and other local institutions that contribute so much to the quality of life that we have here in the greater Gallatin Valley region.”
RightNow has provided financial, adjunct lecturing, and technical support to MSU in the past, but these scholarships represent its first formalized financial contribution to the university.
“The relationship between RightNow and MSU is a wonderful example of community partnership,” said MSU President Geoff Gamble. “Having a successful technology company like RightNow as such a close and supportive neighbor is a tremendous benefit for both MSU’s computer science students and the university as a whole.”
