Ogden, Utah scores coup in winning jet plant / Adam Aircraft has plans to reinvent aviation

"Hopefully," Kemp said, "aerospace will be Ogden’s economic engine now."
Luring cutting-edge jet manufacturer Adam Aircraft to Utah took a combination of incentives, not the least of which was an entrepreneur willing to put money on the line for his hometown.
Five years ago, when developer Mel Kemp began hunting for a tenant for the 47-acre airpark he was creating at Ogden-Hinckley Airport, the area was bottoming out in a decades-long economic struggle.
"It seems like nothing much has happened in Ogden since the railroad left," Kemp said Wednesday after the announcement that Colorado-based Adam Aircraft Industries immediately will begin hiring workers to assemble business jets.
