Montana, Wyoming to get Krispy Kreme stores

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. on Tuesday raised its
projection for new store openings and announced plans to enter five new markets, including Montana.

The Billings Gazette

The Winston-Salem, N.C., doughnut chain said it intends to open 62 stores this fiscal year, instead of the
59 it previously expected.
"We are off to a very strong start this year," said Scott Livengood, chief executive. "We expect to see
increasing store opening momentum over the course of this year."

The company opened 30 stores in fiscal 2001 and 44 in fiscal 2002.
Krispy Kreme said it also awarded the development rights to three franchise groups for five new markets in
three states.
KK-TX LLC will be developing stores over the next five years in Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas; Rigel Corp.
has agreed to develop stores in El Paso, Texas; and L&L Enterprise Holdings LLC will develop stores in
Montana and Wyoming, the company said.
Krispy Kreme saw its fiscal 2002 net income surge 79 percent to $26.4 million, or 45 cents a share, from
$14.7 million, or 27 cents a share, a year earlier, boosted by higher profit from company stores, dough-making
and franchises.
