Largest Motion Picture Equipment Rental Company in Montana seeks interested investment partners to build sound stage in Bozeman

Filmlites

Filmlites Montana LLC in Bozeman, the largest grip, lighting, camera, and support service company in the Rocky Mountain northern region is seeking interested investment partners to build a sound stage in Bozeman.  JP Gabriel, founder of Filmlites and Montana native, has been doing motion pictures, commercials, and television shows in Montana and around the country for 30 years.

JP was instrumental in lobbying for and passing the MEDIA Act in the last legislature which passed with bi-partisan support.  This gives a huge boost to outside production companies to come to Montana to shoot their television or movie projects by giving them up to a 35% transferrable tax credit.  This tax credit can be sold to large Montana corporations for a discount on their taxes.

Filmlites has a 9 acre property just outside of 4 corners in Bozeman where it has currently 20,000 square feet of warehouse space where it stores motion picture equipment and vehicles used in the film industry.  The project, which is in an infant stage, would be to build on that property already owned by Filmlites and connect a sound stage with the largest equipment rental company around.

Filmlites would provide the land and expertise into the world of motion picture production.  Filmlites is already involved with the shooting of “Yellowstone”, the television series and has discussed their needs going forward. This would be an outstanding lure for outside companies to shoot in the most popular shooting area in the state with the equipment and resources necessary to facilitate any project. It is just a matter of time before this need will be filled as the film incentive just came into effect as of July 2019.
