Lander, WY company gets ‘Webby’ nomination http://www.yellowstonepark.com

A Lander Internet business is keeping good company these days as it, along with the likes of Google, Yahoo and others, is a finalist for an award honoring Web sites.

Shelli Johnson, owner of Yellowstone Journal Corporation, said http://www.yellowstonepark.com was identified as one of the top five nominees in the tourism category for a "Webby Award."

"I screamed," she said, recalling when she was told of her advance to the finals. "I know I screamed and I think I did a ‘Yipee!’ I was just floored because of the company."

The Webby Awards, now in their ninth year, accept nominations for best Web sites in more than 60 categories. The award honors excellence in Web design, creativity, usability and functionality.

Johnson entered her Web site earlier this year, saying it was "a long shot, really. I didn’t think we’d have a chance."

More than 4,000 Web sites were entered for all the categories, and Johnson learned she was a finalist Tuesday.
