Kalispell, Montana’s ExcelliMatrix Selected as Development Partner to Battle Invasive Species Using technology and real time data in the fight to maintain native ecosystems

Kalispell, Montana – June 26, 2019, AIS Solutions LLC, based in Columbia Falls, has selected ExcelliMatrix, Inc. as their technology partner to design and build the software and hardware for use in AIS Solutions’ pilot study to combat aquatic invasive species in Montana and other states and provinces. AIS will begin conducting their first season of data collection utilizing advanced technology solutions to identify potential AIS threats before they spread, as well as help authorities accurately trace back future transfer of mussels to their water of origin.

“This is a really interesting project due to the communication that has to happen between physical devices, mobile applications, and the cloud-based web application,” says ExcelliMatrix CEO, Leland Johnson. “We are happy to be the technology partner for AIS Solutions as they tackle this extremely important environmental issue for not only our region but the western US and Canada.”

AIS Solutions signed an agreement with Whitefish Lake to equip boat inspection stations with their technology this summer to test the technology platforms and perform the initial data gathering necessary for the next phase of their technology plan. The data from the study will also be shared with government entities in Montana and surrounding states to help agencies assess the use of new technology solutions in their fight against aquatic invasive species. The company is still accepting volunteers for the pilot program on their website at aissolutions.org.
