Global Gauntlet, a Grown-Up Global Trivia Competition Fundraiser of the Montana World Affairs Council Returns this Saturday 9/15 to Missoula

University of Montana President Seth Bodnar to Give the Welcome Remarks

Dubbed the only local, global trivia competition benefit for grown-ups, the Montana World Affairs Council is hosting its annual benefit this coming Saturday, September 15th at the Hilton Garden Inn and a few tickets remain. Not only a global trivia competition, but also a gourmet dinner, live and silent auction with incredible trips and vacation homes included, as well as a rarity, a pair of signed Muhammed Ali boxing gloves. One of the highlights of the evening will be the Welcome Address by University of Montana President Seth Bodnar.

This is the annual benefit event to support Global Education Initiatives for youth across Montana and the organization looks to this annual fundraiser as a key way to grow its educational outreach. Executive Director Janet Rose says, "our goal is outrageous fun for adults, while promoting global education for our youth. A similar global education program, but for high-school students, called Academic WorldQuest takes place in March. But this benefit event that is modeled after our youth competition, supports our youth education efforts while letting our community know more about our programs and their importance to young people."

A few tickets are still available by calling the Montana World Affairs office at 406-728-3328. Tickets are $75 per person and include a gourmet sit-down dinner, wine on every table, live and silent auction, the global trivia competition with prizes and a wine "pull," "kind of like a raffle for wine," according to the organizers.

Rose says Global Gauntlet is one of the most fun fundraisers in Missoula but most importantly, it teaches all of us about global affairs while supporting global affairs programming for our kids. The categories that the trivia questions are taken from include Wide World of Sports, What Plagues You, The Roaring Twenties, and several other unique and funny categories.

Global Gauntlet is this Saturday, September 15th beginning at 5pm at the Hilton Garden Inn.
