Getting into a partnership — badly

It appeared to be a perfect complement of experience and performance.

They decided to form a partnership. From what each of them knew about partnerships, this was a perfect match. Although they could continue working together without the formality of a legal entity, they felt their presentations as ‘partners’ would have more impact on potential clients.

People give more credence to the sharing of talent between partners than just two companies working together. A partnership also suggests a bigger entity with more fingers and toes than the individual practitioner represents. This is not always true but it is a general perception in the business community.
