Are you tired of the hidden costs associated with replacing your staff?

Employee turnover affects your bottom line, and experts estimate that
replacing an employee can cost 20-25% of the annual salary for that position
and can be more when you factor in costs associated with loss of
productivity and training.

Retention of your current staff is also important when you consider that we
may be facing the worst labor shortage in our lifetime within the next five
years.

According to a 2000 Bureau of Labor Statistics report, by 2010 there could
be as many as 10 million more jobs available than there are employees in the
United States-thanks to a combination of factors, including the retirement
of baby boomers and a decrease in workers aged between twenty-five and
thirty-four.

This seminar will address many retention issues faced by employers today.
Our speaker, Dr. Stephen Comer will be presenting information based on a
yearlong research project that was conducted at his organization.

· Learn how his organization reduced turnover in their industry by
over 54%.

· Explore retention strategies that consider both the employees’
personal aspirations (career development, recognition, reward) and the goals
of the organization by creating a culture that sustains all employees.

Dr. Comer’s goal is to help you create "a place where employees really feel
good about working."

Dr. Stephen Comer grew up on a dairy farm in the mountains of NC. He
attended Wake Forest and Duke Universities under full academic scholarships,
and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wake Forest and his
doctorate from Duke.

He has taught at every grade level from elementary to post-graduate, and has
published more than 1600 articles in a variety of newsletters, newspapers,
journals and books.

He has 20 years professional HR experience, primarily in health care
organizations, and is currently
the Director of Human Resources at Missoula Developmental Service
Corporation (MDSC), a non-profit organization providing support services
24/7 to adults with developmental disabilities.
