Delta service: Some cities to receive more nonstop service to Salt Lake City

HELENA (AP) — Delta Air Lines announced Wednesday plans to improve Montana service between its hub in Salt Lake City and the cities of
Helena, Great Falls and Kalispell, effective April 7.

Delta said it plans a year-round connection flight between Great Falls and Salt Lake City, on SkyWest Airlines with the 50-seat Canadair regional jet
air craft.
Delta said it also plans to replace a Boeing 737-300 flight that has operated only during the summer season from Salt Lake City to Helena,
continuing to Kalispell and then back to Salt Lake City, with two new flights.
One will be a nonstop Delta 737-300 flight between Salt Lake City and Helena beginning on June 1. The 737 service will operate during the peak
summer season, while the flight will be Delta Connection Canadair service during the winter season.
The other will be a yearround Delta Connection non stop Canadair flight between Salt Lake City and Kalispell, also beginning on April 7.
“ Montana customers will enjoy the convenience of more nonstop year-round ser vice to the Salt Lake City hub where Delta and Delta Connection
offer convenient connecting flights to 66 desti nations,” said Subodh Karnik, a Delta vice president.
Delta and Delta Connection offer service from Salt Lake City to seven Montana cities — Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell and
Missoula.
Gov. Judy Martz applaud ed Delta’s announcement, and Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., said the changes would boost Montana’s econo my.
It also will give business and leisure travelers more options to get into and out of Montana for work and plea sure, Baucus said.
