Code Girls United’s Free Online After School Program Registration is open for 4th to 8th grade Montana girls (starts first week of October, Monday class and a Wednesday class)
Girls Creating Apps and Solving Problems:
Code Girls United’s mission is to expand the future career opportunities of 4th – 8th grade girls in Montana through hands-on experiences in coding, technology, and business. By building skills and self-confidence, we are teaching young girls to become the leaders of tomorrow.
The Code Girls United’s after-school program runs in two sessions throughout the school year. Girls are taught the fundamentals of computer science and coding through interactive lessons, and are tasked with identifying a community need and developing an app as a solution to the problem. Throughout the year, participants in our programs learn computer science, coding, marketing, business skills, public speaking, and teamwork. We help increase feelings of self-confidence, STEM competence, and interest in STEM, and do this in a way that is relevant to their daily lives, academics, and other interests. When girls leave our program we want them to know they have the ability to overcome challenges, complete hard tasks, fail and recover, and reach their goals in every aspect of their lives.
