Carroll, Billings’ Rocky Mountain rated top colleges

U.S. News and World Report names two Montana colleges in its top 10 best comprehensive colleges in the West among those that offer bachelor’s degrees.

Carroll College in Helena was tied for second with Master’s College and Seminary in California. Linfield College in Oregon was ranked first.

Rocky Mountain College in Billings was ranked ninth in the West.

The guide to “America’s Best Colleges,” which hits newsstands Monday, names Princeton the top university in the nation. Williams was named the top liberal arts college, while the University of California, Berkeley, is the top-rated public university.
