Boise State University – Venture College – Propelling Students to Launch a Venture – Reverse Pitch Competitions

Boise State University

Are you interested in entrepreneurship but don’t yet have a venture idea? Venture College can help!
We are excited to share we will be hosting two reverse pitch competitions during the Fall 2021 semester, Hacking for Homebuilding (in partnership with Boise State University‘s College of Engineering) and Cybersecurity Entrepreneur Challenge (in partnership with BSU’s Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity).

Reverse pitch competitions present current challenges faced within a community and/or industry for participants to solve and form into ventures. Teams pitch their solutions for cash prizes, and this year’s finalists from each competition will pitch during Boise Entrepreneur Week!

Reverse Pitch Competition Highlights:

  • Interdisciplinary Teams
We need students from all colleges to join in order for teams to have the best potential for success. Venture College staff will help applicants form teams.
  • Industry Partners
Work closely with industry partners, developing a strong network that will last beyond these competitions.
  • Mentor Network
Work with the Venture College and a community of mentors to refine your solutions into ventures through research, customer discovery, and idea validation.

Mission43 Entrepreneur Course

Alumni Testimonial

“Venture College gave me all of the educational pieces, frameworks, and models to build upon, as each class was specifically designed as a building block leading up to the capstone or ‘Pitch Night.’  Throughout the course, I gained confidence with my vision and gained/expanded my connections and networking group to support this venture . . . Venture College didn’t just give me the educational information and contacts, it gave me more than that…courage, confidence, and hope that my business venture can be real.”
