American Prairie Foundation E-Newsletter Sept/Oct. 2011 – From Fence Removal to Cooking with Lewis and Clark!

September on American Prairie Reserve http://www.americanprairie.org/ was unforgettable not only because of the hundreds of elk dotting the landscape during their annual rut season, but also because of the diverse people who came to the prairie as visitors and volunteers. I was struck by the number of people who said they can’t wait to return next year to see how their time and effort have contributed to the Reserve’s overall growth. Building this very special place is truly a community effort, shaped by the time, talent and gifts of many people. Future generations will remember and celebrate the generosity of those who are stepping forward today to support the Reserve’s creation.
