2019 Montana Association of Geographic Information Professionals (MAGIP) K-12 Education Grants and Higher Education GIS Scholarship

The Montana Association of Geographic Information Professionals (MAGIP) Education Committee works to promote the exchange of geographic information to K-12 schools, colleges, universities, and the public by administering grants and scholarships and providing training and mentoring to students and teachers.

The MAGIP Education Committee would like to announce the 2019 Higher Education GIS Scholarship and the Van Shelhamer Memorial K-12 Education Grants

 

MAGIP Higher Education GIS Scholarship

The MAGIP Higher Education GIS Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student or a first-year graduate student attending a Montana college or university in 2019 who is doing a GIS-related project or research. The recipient will be eligible to receive up to $3,000 in scholarship money.

MAGIP Van Shelhamer Memorial K-12 Education Grants

MAGIP is offering two (2) grants, each for $1,500, to to support the development and use of geographic location-based technologies, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), or Remote Sensing in K-12 classrooms.
