JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director of Loan Services manages the Butte Local Development Corporation (BLDC) and Headwaters RC&D (HRCD)’s loan programs and portfolio. The Director of Loan Services works with partner lenders and small business owners to originate loan projects and is responsible for projects from underwriting through funding.

$55,000 – $65,000 a year

The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, possess strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and demonstrate the ability to balance multiple priorities. The Director of Loan Services works on projects from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. The Director of Loan Services supervises a Loan Portfolio Assistant.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business finance, accounting, business administration or a related field. Acceptable experience in lieu of education would be a minimum of three years experience in commercial lending, accounting, business consulting or management.
• Excellent computer, organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Must be proficient with computerized loan portfolio management and word processing software programs and common office equipment.
• Detail-oriented person capable of managing multiple projects at any given time
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently
• Able to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure

DESIRED SKILLS

AND EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of commercial financing practices and procedures
• Ability to analyze financing options and to develop financing packages with multiple funding sources
• Skilled in preparing and presenting written and oral loan summaries and portfolio reports
• Experience using computerized financial analysis programs and loan portfolio management software
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, lenders, clients, investors, loan committee members, state and federal government agencies, and the general public.
• Exceptional written, verbal and listening communication skills
• Enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented

DUTIES OF

THIS POSITION:

The Director of Loan Services is responsible for the management of multiple loan programs, supervision of the loan portfolio, underwriting and analysis of potential projects, preparation of loan documents and summaries for loan committees, and preparing and submitting required reports (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual) to BLDC/HW’s funding partners. The Director of Loan Services will work closely with the Executive Director on major economic development projects that include financial assistance from state or federal agencies as well as BLDC/HW’s loan funds, on recapitalization of the loan fund, and will be expected to report to the Board of Directors on the overall performance of the organization’s loan program. Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Frequent travel is required within Butte-Silver Bow. Occasional travel outside the region, including overnight travel to attend meetings, workshops and training seminars, is also required. Must be able to attend evening and weekend meetings.
