The Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research (ITRR) at The University of Montana invites you to participate in virtual research listening session(s)From Dioramas to Dinosaurs: The Impacts of Montana Museums and Exploring Paleontological Tourism Research Projects.”

These sessions aim to introduce you to the projects, meet the research team, and gather your valuable insights. The study is designed with a dual focus: first, to explore the overall impacts of museums across Montana, examining their social, educational, and economic impacts along with their community engagement strategies. Second, the study will also research paleontology museums to understand how the Montana Dinosaur Trail and paleo-tourism influence local economies, community development, and the experiences of visitors. Throughout the upcoming fiscal year (July 1st, 2024 – June 30th, 2025), ITRR will employ diverse research methodologies to gain insights into museums and paleontological tourism in Montana.

These interactive virtual listening sessions will be conducted via Microsoft Teams on June 3 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. and June 6 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The content presented will be consistent across both dates, accommodating those who cannot attend one of the sessions. We appreciate your participation and engagement, and we encourage you to extend this invitation to anyone who might share your interest.
