At the Montana Afterschool Alliance (MTAA), our mission is to advocate for programs that strengthen communities, nurture youth, and ignite learning beyond the school day. We achieve this through three core strategies: Connect, Cultivate, and Champion.
Our Champion strategy is where your daily work meets our statewide action. MTAA amplifies the importance of your programs to your youth, families, and communities and ensures that policymakers understand that afterschool is not just a convenience, but a community necessity.
At Afterschool & Beyond, we will provide policy updates and begin to set the foundation for our future advocacy efforts. Topics will include:
Policy Roundtable: Provide updates on current state policies including the path to school-aged licensure
Lived Storytelling: Have the opportunity to tell your story for our OST storytelling and data project to provide us with new ways to engage our policymakers
2027 Legislative Strategy Discussion: Help shape our advocacy plan for the upcoming legislative session
Discussion of emerging issues: Liability insurance, AI guidance, and more
Your presence makes this advocacy possible! Funds raised by attending Afterschool & Beyond directly allow MTAA to have the non-grant-funded income to engage in policy work on your behalf. By attending, you increase your own knowledge and connections, while supporting our efforts to champion your work.
