Montana Economic Affairs Legislative Committee – Nov. 7 – Helena

November 7 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

The three agencies reporting to the committee are the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Division of Banking and Financial Institutions, and the Department of Labor and Industry.

The Economic Affairs Interim Committee of the legislature will meet Nov. 7, starting at 8:30 a.m. in Room 137. Sorting through two rule objections will occupy part of the committee’s time, which also will be spent monitoring three state agencies and determining the depth and breadth of the studies to be undertaken this interim.

The rule objections, which pause adoption of the rules but do not necessarily prevent adoption, relate to a rule proposed by the Board of Dentistry affecting denturists and a rule proposed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division that primarily increases penalties for violating alcohol laws.

For an agenda and meeting materials see the committee website. Public comment will be taken throughout the meeting on specified topics or at the end of the day on any general item related to the committee’s portfolio of work. For more information see the committee website or contact committee staff.
