Missoula’s Reserve Street Safety Action Plan Information Meetings – 3/4 and 3/5 – Missoula

March 4 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Missoula Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), in partnership with the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), and City of Missoula, invite you to attend one of two open houses with the

Reserve Street Safety Action Plan

to learn more about potential alternative treatments to enhance safety on the Reserve Street corridor. The events will be held on Tuesday, March 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, March 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hellgate School, Building 3 Cafeteria on Flynn Lane.  You are welcome to stop by at any time. No presentation will be given. The same information will be provided at both events.

MPO and project team partners are working on an action plan to improve safety along the Reserve Street corridor from Interstate 90 (I-90) to Brooks Street (US Highway 12). In late 2024, traffic, crash data, and public feedback were collected. Based on this information, an initial menu of alternatives for both the corridor and individual intersections have been determined. This safety action plan will provide an opportunity to identify how Reserve Street can more safely serve all users.

Community feedback received at these events will then inform an alternative design concept and draft plan to be reviewed and finalized by all agencies later this year. The MPO, the City of Missoula, and MDT will look for opportunities to implement the Safety Action Plan as funding becomes available. A timeline for funding allocation has not yet been determined, meaning that any approved changes to Reserve Street will take place incrementally.

In addition to the open house, as a stakeholder, business, or location along Reserve Street, we value your insight and appreciate your participationThe project team is interested in meeting with you or a member of your team to share potential alternatives and hear your feedback. Please email Becca at [email protected] to coordinate a time.

We look forward to connecting with you.

Respectfully,

Becca MacLean on behalf of the Reserve Street Safety Action Plan project
