Join us for an informative presentation on town planning and community design. Following the presentation, work alongside your neighbors to draw your vision for the future of the Mullan Area! This is a family-friendly event – bring your children! Refreshments will be provided.

The Mullan Area Master Plan and Implementation is a planning and design process for roughly 2,000 acres on the western edge of the City of Missoula, split between the City and County. The master plan is a chance to set the land use patterns and put into place regulations that are in alignment with the community’s values.

The first phase of the process is to gather big-picture input from the citizens of the City and County to establish a shared vision of what the future of the Mullan Area should look and feel like. The Dover, Kohl & Partners team will work with community stakeholders and the public to determine how the Mullan Area should continue to grow and evolve. A Public Design Charrette will bring all stakeholders to the table over a short, focused period of time to work intensively with the design team to reach consensus over the future evolution of the area.  There will be multiple opportunities to engage with the team throughout this process, providing feedback in person and online through this website.

What is a Public Design Charrette?

Public Design Charrettes bring all stakeholders to the table over a short, focused period of time to work intensively with the design team to reach consensus over the future evolution of a place. The Charrette is rapid, intensive, and includes a series of creative work sessions between the public and the design team to produce a draft plan for the future.

Why should you participate?

Participating in the Charrette will give you a chance to express your vision for the future of the Mullan Area. Your participation will make the difference between a good plan and a great plan.
