From bulldozers to backhoes, sponsoring contractors bring their big equipment and supervise as young people in our community get to try it out. Title sponsors this year include Jackson Contractor Group, Riverside Contracting, Republic Services and Knife River.
“So far this summer Missoula Food Bank & Community Center has already served nearly 50,000 meals to young people in Missoula County so that they can continue to thrive during the summer months,” said Amy Allison Thompson, Executive Director of Missoula Food Bank & Community Center. “So many of our young neighbors rely on school meals to meet their daily nutritional needs, and when school is out MFB&CC steps in with our Kids Table meal programs to make sure every child in our community has enough to eat. Missoula Under Construction is not only a fun, family-friendly event in our community, it also raises important funds to support our childhood nutrition programs.”
Missoula Under Construction will be held Saturday, August 17th with gates opening at 9:00 am and closing at 3:00 pm. It will be held at Fort Missoula Regional Park, near the soccer fields at the corner of Guardsman Ln and Green Guidon Ln. Tickets are available at http://www.missoulafoodbank.org or at the gate for $20 per family or $5 per individual.
Parking near the event is not available due to the recent storm damage. Attendees for Missoula Under Construction are encouraged to park at Target Range School (4095 South Ave West) and take the free shuttle to the event.
