Kalispell Chamber to Host Luncheon Featuring Development Incentives to Grow Downtown Kalispell -2/19

On Tuesday, February 19, the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce will dedicate its monthly luncheon program to feature programs that could aid developers in growing downtown Kalispell and the surrounding area.
Last year, a portion of Kalispell was nominated as an Economic Opportunity Zone by Governor Bullock and approved by the U.S. Department of the Treasury under new authority in the 2017 tax reform bill. This program will allow potential developers the potential opportunity for deferral, reduction, or possible permeant exclusion of capital gains on new investments within the zone. Jordahl and Sliter, CPA partner Bryson Pelc, will present on these benefits along with Qualified Opportunity Funds.
Additionally, several other programs currently exist in the Kalispell area, including the New Market Tax Credit program that provides additional capital to qualified projects, which will be presented by MoFi Vice President, Heidi DeArment.
Doug Rusell, City Manager for Kalispell, will present on the update urban density characteristics of the B3 zone and opportunities available in the two downtown tax increment districts, the Core Area and Downtown TIF.
“A vibrant, prosperous downtown is critical to the success of Kalispell and for workforce attraction,” said Joe Unterreiner, President/CEO of the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce. “We feel this is a tremendous opportunity for developers and our members to take advantage of numerous incentives to help push our community forward and make Kalispell the most attractive place to live, work, and do business.”
The program will run from 11:45am to 1:15pm on the 19th and will include lunch for all registered attendees. The cost of the program is $20 for Kalispell Chamber members, $25 for non-members, and registrations must be received by 5:00pm on Friday, February 15.
