Hellgate Venture Network – 3/20 – Missoula

With more than 20 years in web development, Eric Franzon has directed a daily publication and a large, detailed IT industry conference focused on commercial applications of technologies. That conference featured early versions of Siri, IBM Watson, the Facebook Like button, OpenAI, and the schema.org project. He has worked in management, marketing, operations, logistics, education, and public-speaking roles. Eric served as an Advisory Committee representative of the World Wide Web Consortium for several years. A lifelong learner and educator, Eric has taught Web system concepts, improvisational comedy, blues harmonica, early-childhood education, and gender studies. He has been a guest lecturer at MSU, UM, and Missoula College. You may have seen Eric in the recent MCT production of “A Christmas Story: The Musical” or at a trivia night in town. He is a graduate of the 2022 Leadership Montana flagship program.

Networking for the Missoula area start-up and small business community offering peer support for current and aspiring entrepreneurs.

The Hellgate Venture Network is a community of Missoula entrepreneurs that meets monthly. It was founded in March of 2009 by Paul Gladen and Dawn McGee. Being a leader of a business is often isolating, so Paul and Dawn decided to offer peer-to-peer mentorship and support by hosting a gathering once a month. People who are not from Missoula often ask about the name – the steep gorge cut by the Clark Fork to the east of the Missoula Valley is known as Hellgate Canyon.
