The Western Governors’ Association will host the webinar, Electric Vehicle Workforce Needs and Opportunities, on Wednesday, April 21, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. MT.
Workforce opportunities abound in the electric vehicles sector, whether it be working in a battery or vehicle manufacturing plant, installing and repairing public charging stations, or retrofitting the electrical system in a parking garage. There are currently significant gaps, however, in the workforce and EV infrastructure and a need for training opportunities.
This webinar will analyze existing gaps in the EVs workforce, how smart workforce investments could address these gaps, and the local economic benefits of investing in a robust EV workforce.
The webinar will be moderated by David Terry, Executive Director of the National Association of State Energy Officials. Panelists will include:
- Dr. Linda Little, Assistant Director of the IBEW/NECA Electrical Industry Training Center
- Jannet Malig, Statewide Sector Navigator for Advanced Transportation and Logistics at California Community Colleges
