Center Partners to add 200 jobs in Coeur d’Alene, ID

CdA call center will grow to accommodate new client

Center Partners will hire about 200 call center workers in Coeur d’Alene to provide customer service for an unnamed telecommunications company.

The company wants to fill the positions quickly, and will hold a job fair from 1-7 p.m. today at 1201 W. Ironwood Drive.

"Our client’s need for integrated customer care is growing quickly," David Geiger, Center Partners’ chief executive officer, said in a statement. "… We have clearly demonstrated our ability to help grow their business."

Martha Lanaghen, Center Partners’ vice president of marketing, said the new telecommunications client offers a full complement of wireless, home and commercial telephone services and all the accompanying accessories and products. She declined to name the new client.

Call center employees will answer customer service questions ranging from billing issues to product use.

Lanaghen said the first employees would start training on March 1.

The building on Ironwood Drive has been vacant since November, when Center Partners laid off roughly 400 workers. AT&T Broadband was a large client of the Coeur d’Alene facility, which handled service calls for cable customers. When AT&T Broadband merged with Comcast, Comcast decided to handle those calls in-house, and the Coeur d’Alene facility closed.

Laid-off employees interested in returning to Center Partners will have to reapply for positions, Lanaghen said. "They would have an advantage because of their experience, but there wouldn’t be any preferential treatment."

Center Partners has been working hard to find replacement clients, said Steve Griffitts, president of Jobs Plus.

Details about the jobs, including the wage rate, were not available Wednesday. However, Lanaghen did say the jobs would include supervisory positions.
